DriveCam Inc. Introduces First Cellular and Web-Based Platform for Driver Risk Management Clients

DriveCam Inc. is now able to serve the long-haul trucking market due to the availability of new deployment options for its behavior-based risk mitigation solution, including cellular and Wi-Fi delivery with a Web-based interface.  The first Driver Risk Management company to offer cellular upload to fleets, DriveCam can service fleets who were previously unable to take advantage of daily upload and review due to remote upload locales and lack of frequency with which their drivers return to home bases. Public Works and Safety

Public works officials and employees are being honored May 20-27, 2007 during National Public Works Week.  In the spirit of this recognition, the editors of “In the Driver’s Seat” are highlighting public works and the impact safe driving can have in this industry.


Public works is services, management and improvements offered by the local, state or federal governments on behalf of a community for the public good.  It encompasses a wide range of services, including water purification systems, sewage treatment centers, roads, bridges and highways infrastructure, transit systems, waterways, hospitals, schools and utilities.  Services offered can range from city-to-city, community-to-community. Eliot Feldstein recently joined DriveCam as a sector general manager for the insurance industry.  Eliot spent some time this month with the editors of DriveCam’s e-newsletter about his new role and recent trip to RIMS 2007 in New Orleans, La.

Editor:  Tell me about your background.  What made you join the DriveCam team?

EF:  I have a background in technology, and have been involved in nearly every aspect of it – hardware, networking, semiconductor, software and wireless – on behalf of commercial, consumer and industrial customers who required new applications to solve complex business problems.  DriveCam combines cutting edge technology with service to provide a solution that has far reaching economic and societal benefits.

DriveCam Academy

The next DriveCam Academy training course will be held on June 14, 2007, at the Hilton Irvine Hotel in Orange County from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. PDT.  

The DriveCam Academy is a one day course that provides advanced training on improving driving behavior using the DriveCam solution.  The course is taught by Del Lisk, DriveCam's vice president of safety services.

The course includes:
o Analyzing DriveCam video clips
o Determining accident preventability
o Counseling and coaching drivers
o Effective driver training strategies
o And much more
