Technical Project Manager

Position Summary:
The project manager is responsible for the management and successful execution of non recurring project(s) to meet or exceed stakeholder needs and expectations. Coordinates and monitors the scheduling and technical performance of company programs. Develop viable project plans to satisfy the business requirements; management of cost, schedule, technical requirements, issues and actions. Provide effective resource management, adequate and timely execution of communications, effective change control, customer satisfaction, and status reporting. Ensures adherence to master plans and schedules, develops solutions to program problems, and directs work of incumbents assigned to program from various departments. Implement existing technology and/or new functionality through the application of recognized project management skills, tools (including Microsoft Project) and techniques. The TPM also acts as an advisor to program team regarding projects, tasks, and operations.
Essential Responsibilities Include:
· Responsible for the creation, maintenance and delivery of detailed project plans
· Identifies and scopes client requirements and deliverables
· Create goals and milestones that correlate to billable events within a project
· Identifies, documents, and manages scope or deliverable change requests required whether initiated internally or by the client
· Creates and maintains activity and progress reports for internal and external customers
· Tracks all budget-related information, including billable hours and project expenses
· Ensures the success of the project while remaining within the scoped time and budget
· Manages and helps ensure client satisfaction in partnership with the internal team
· Properly notifies the internal team any risks, weaknesses or opportunities that could impact the success of the project, escalating to upper management as appropriate
· Plans for and controls quality by reviewing items before delivery to client; monitoring and enhancing internal and external deliverables/documents; working with internal teams on needed revisions/enhancements, and involving the Quality Assurance team throughout the project / program
· Coordinates and participates in periodic project and program reviews and strategy meetings
· Maintains an understanding of the operating environment and internal processes and procedures that may affect the project’s success
· Ensures the use of best practices and apply lessons learned from previous projects; share lessons learned with other project management team members
· Be accountable for driving the entire product lifecycle: requirements definition through specification, design, coding, quality assurance, implementation, integration, launch, and production support
· Clarify and drive project commitments as well as establish and maintain clear chains of accountability
· Address bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, balance the business needs versus technical constraints
Desired Skills/Qualifications
· Strong verbal and written communications skills and the ability to effectively articulate ideas up and down the management chain.
· Excellent interpersonal skills will be needed to develop and maintain effective relationships with clients, architects, engineers, contractors and other team members.
· Ability to step in and take ownership in a fast-paced results oriented environment and demonstrates drive and initiative
· Knowledge of project management principles, methods and techniques
· Able to demonstrate experience with professional services processes and tools including workflow development and management, milestone management and quality assurance practices
· Experience managing resources, budgets and project timing
· Proficient in MS Project, and the entire MS Office Suite
· Proven organizational skills and attention to detail
· Strong problem-solving skills
Experience/Education Required/Desired
· Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
· 4 or more years of relevant experience managing projects (preferably 1-2 years within a technology environment: hardware and software applications)
· PMP Certification or documented/demonstrated equivalent experience required
