Software QA Engineer

Summary: We are looking for a top notch tools-oriented quality engineer to come join our excellent team of quality professionals. This individual will participate in defining, implementing and executing test tool development projects and test case expansion utilizing commercial and open-source products as well tapping on his/her experience with programming and scripting to create custom test applications and harnesses. This individual will also conduct daily testing and integrate solid quality verification and validation techniques that come from his/her breadth of experience testing products that range from embedded firmware to n-tier software enterprise systems. This person will also play a key role in developing, refining, and implementing quality industry best practices as well as monitoring product health by developing and reporting via various metrics and technologies.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Rapid expansion of test cases utilizing DriveCam’s test automation tools.
- Create technical contributions to enhance automated (regression and load) test frameworks via programming and scripting.
- Develop test policies, plans, procedures and cases for use by all QA staff that will maximize V & V efficiency and tool adoption.
- Fully and methodically test DriveCam software and write clear and concise bug reports.
- Work with Director of Quality Assurance, other QA engineers, software and firmware developers, Sales and Customer Service to define test plans and cases.
- Work directly with the development teams to assist with black box test development and implementation of continuous integration tools.
- Work closely with the Director of QA to estimate test effort, schedule and develop test tasks according to agreed scope and development milestones in order to meet overall project timelines.
- With a full understanding of corporate goals, manage multiple test projects, workloads and deadlines within a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working in an agile development methodology/approach a strong plus.
Education/Experience:
- BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline or equivalent experience.
- Must have experience developing QA/test solutions in an n-tier enterprise commercial product. Experience will include products fielded as web services and Windows applications.
- Experience working with Linux or other UNIX-based operating systems is a strong plus.
- C, C++ programming experience highly desirable.
- At least 8 years of industry experience in software QA and/or software development.
- Specific experience with creating test tools for .NET, C#, web, client-server applications with database components (Microsoft SQL, Oracle or DB2).
- Mercury Test Director and QuickTest Pro, Fitnesse, TCL, Microsoft Team Edition for Testers experience are a strong plus.
